Baytuna — Privacy Policy

Baytuna (بيتُنا, "our home") is a private family-planning app operated by its developer for a single household. It is not a public service: accounts are created by invitation within one family. This policy explains what data Baytuna handles, why, and the choices you have. The short version: your data is used to run the app for your household, and for nothing else. No advertising, no analytics or tracking SDKs, no sale or sharing of personal data — ever.

Data Baytuna stores

• Account basics — your name, email address, and sign-in identifiers (Sign in with Apple or email one-time codes).
• What your household puts in — lists and items, meal plans and dishes, prayer marks, moods and check-ins, goals and pacts, contacts you add, visits, trips, notes, and settings.
• Mirrored data from services you connect — described per service below.

Everything is stored in a private database (hosted on Supabase) protected by row-level security, so each household's data is readable only by its own signed-in members. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

Google user data

If you choose to connect Google Calendar, Baytuna requests the Google Calendar scope (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar) and uses it only to:

• read events from the calendars you select, so the family's week can be shown inside Baytuna;
• create one shared "Baytuna — Family" calendar in your Google account, if you ask it to;
• create, update, or delete events on your calendars only when you (or your partner, for the shared calendar) explicitly add, edit, or remove them in Baytuna.

Selected calendar events are mirrored into the household's private database so the app stays fast and works offline. OAuth tokens are stored server-side only, are never placed on your device, and are never visible to the app's clients. Google data is never used for advertising, never sold, never used to train AI or machine-learning models, and never shared with anyone outside your household's own app. Disconnecting Google inside Baytuna deletes the stored tokens and the mirrored calendar data; you can also revoke Baytuna's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

TickTick

If you connect TickTick, Baytuna reads the projects you select and mirrors their tasks so your to-dos appear inside the app, and writes back only the changes you make in Baytuna (completing, creating, or rescheduling a task). Tokens are stored server-side only. Disconnecting removes the tokens and the mirrored tasks.

Budget figures

Household budget summaries can be pushed into Baytuna from the household's own budgeting tool. These are category totals (for example "Groceries: QAR 1,550 of 2,000"), not bank credentials or transaction feeds; Baytuna never connects to a bank.

Prayer times

Prayer times for Qatar are taken from the Ministry of Awqaf's published timetable or computed on the device from fixed Doha coordinates. No location tracking is performed and no location data is collected.

What Baytuna never does

• No advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking of any kind.
• No sale, rent, or sharing of personal data with third parties.
• No use of your data to train AI or machine-learning models.
• No reading of data beyond the scopes and selections you approve.

Retention and deletion

Data is kept while your household uses Baytuna. Disconnecting an integration removes its tokens and mirrored data. You can delete any content you created at any time inside the app. For full account or household deletion, email the contact below and it will be removed from the database.
